Meet TJ Barber, ATR, LPC
Welcome! I’m TJ Barber, a seasoned Art Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor dedicated to supporting clients in southern Illinois and St. Louis, MO. With years of experience in the field, I specialize in addressing issues such as interpersonal violence, minority stress, sex and sexuality, and LGBTQIA+-related concerns.
My Approach
I believe in creating a nurturing and safe space where you can explore your inner self and work towards wellness. Over the past seven years, I have helped individuals navigate relationship challenges, life transitions, family tensions, caregiver or parenting struggles, and LGBTQIA+ issues. My therapeutic style is deeply rooted in respect, sensitivity, and empathy, tailored to meet your unique needs.
The Healing Power of Creativity
As a firm believer in the healing power of creativity, I incorporate art therapy techniques to help you express your emotions, boost self-esteem, and improve your overall quality of life. Whether through "scribbles and stick figures" or more elaborate art, every expression holds immense value in the therapeutic process.
